Very fantasy. But it does no harm to watch this type of drama once in a while. Scheming people who try to bootlick the officers to get what they want. Corrupt officers who oppressed their citizens instead of caring for them. Indeed reflective of society back then.

To be fair, I’ll hold off my rating till the drama is finished. But of course if you compare with the older similar series like K.O 1, X-family, K.O3anguo, this type of drama is really going downhill. It tried to be comedy, but portray from cold jokes perspective. Of which one can’t really laugh. Instead you’ll have the expression of -.-“‘. Anyway, I also find that perhaps the budget has shrinks. Props wise, background isn’t as fantastic and a good drama besides a good plot, excellent actors, you also need fantastic effects be it computer or sound. But too much dependence of computer effect robbed off the natural flavour of a drama. So I wonder if I might fail this given that I merely give a pass for K.O3anguo.
Lover River: FAILED
I don’t even want to recommend it at all, nor give a rating. Simply because it’s awful. Was looking forward to it but the opening didn’t even caught my attention. Episode 1 is totally weak! William as usual act in rich man’s role, no breakthrough from his past work at all. Plot is miserable, maybe miserable is an understatement. The plot is pathetic. Pace isn’t fast enough to have a kickstart. I couldn’t even last till episode 5 and I feel like just skipping the whole drama to watched the ending, without bothering what’s going to happen in between, since without guessing one will know it’s just the character Zhen Ai and William’s character falling into love. TERRIBLE. To Genie’s fans, simply forget about this drama, go watch her previous work of ROLLING LOVE, and to William’s fans, go watch GREEN FOREST MY HOME instead. It sure turned out this pair up of these 2 has no chemistry. The extras acting skills are horrendous. It’s like they couldn’t speak smoothly yet was recorded in the drama and showed. Example the nurse in the hospital in ep4, the cafeteria manager in ep 2. The songs have no freshness given the Genie’s songs are released way earlier than the drama. For the more experienced actors I kind of feel sorry for them. They have better works than this. Normally no matter how terrible, I would at least rate a minimal pass since it’s not easy to produce a decent drama. But for this case, I don’t see the effort to better this drama. I kind of find this drama lacks some sincerity to the audience. VERY DISAPPOINTED INDEED.
